WoW Shadowlands Flying Overview
Let's explore the requirements for getting the Memories of Sunless Skies and unlocking flying in the Shadowlands locations.
- Join a Covenant: Upon reaching level 60 and progressing through the starting Shadowlands storyline, you need to join one of the four Covenants: Kyrian, Necrolord, Venthyr, or Night Fae. Based on it, you will also receive one of the possible bonus collectibles at Renown 45:
- Elysian Aquilon Kyrian mount;
- Maldraxxian Corpsefly Necrolord mount;
- Ardenweald Wilderlinga Night Fae mount;
- Sinfall Gravewing Venthyr mount.
- Reach Renown Level 44 with your covenant: it will allow you to access the 12th chapter of the Covenant Campaign, the Last Sigil. You can level your reputation by completing weekly quests, such as Return Lost Souls and Replenish the Reservoir, as well as by participating in special activities and events.
- Complete The Last Sigil: to do it, you will need to finish the 9.0 campaign, 12 chapters of your Covenant Campaign, and 3/9 chapters of the Chains of Domination campaign.
- Get the Memories of Sunless Skies: After completing the above steps, you will receive the Primus Returns quest (it's the last part of the Last Sigil questline) that rewards the Memories of Sunless Skies item. Using it permanently unlocks flying for all characters on your account, without any level restrictions, in the Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and Revendreth.
Note that flying will not be unlocked in The Maw, Oribos, and Zereth Mortis.
