/gquit is the fastest way to leave your current guild. Type the command in the chat window and press Enter. The full command /guildquit also works.
The command is available in WoW Classic and Retail. You do not need to open the Guild panel first. After the command is accepted, your character leaves the guild immediately.

Disband the Guild

What If the Guild Master Is Inactive?

What Happens When You Leave a Guild
Leaving a guild removes your access to guild features immediately, but it does not remove your personal character progress. Your equipped gear, inventory, gold, professions, quests, levels, and personal items remain unchanged.

Guild Bank Access
Guild bank access ends when you leave the guild. Items stored in the guild bank remain there. Leaving the guild does not automatically return items that you previously deposited.

Guild Tabard
Your guild tabard is not deleted when you leave. Hardcore uses the same basic guild departure command. The important additional consideration is character death. Guild leadership should be transferred before taking unnecessary risks if preserving the guild is important.

Guild Reputation in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Leaving a guild does not immediately erase the reputation you earned with that guild. When you join a different guild, your guild reputation changes according to the guild reputation rules for the version. In Mists of Pandaria, joining a new guild reduces your previous guild reputation by one reputation rank rather than simply applying the Classic Era rules to the character.
There is no universal 30 day reputation decay system that should be applied to every WoW version. The old version of this guide incorrectly presented that mechanic as a rule for all Classic and Retail versions.
Guild Rewards
