But as the game grew, the amount of gold players could earn increased, and prices for items skyrocketed.

Now, in WoW The War Within, millions of gold can be spent on just one high-end item, and earning gold has become an important part of playing the game. We’ll also cover the best spots and gathering routes that will allow you to maximize your profits.

Dual Gathering Route (Mining + Herbalism)

Let’s start with the best dual-gathering route in The War Within.

This route is perfect for Mining and Herbalism because it offers a very high density of nodes within a small area, making it highly efficient for farming. Below, we’ll explain the builds that you need to make for each of these professions.

The route is located in Hallowfall, focusing on two nearby islands. To maximize your gathering, simply fly around the outer edges of these islands and collect nodes as you go.

Mining Build to Farm Gold

To make the most of mining, start by investing points in the Plethora of Ore specialization. Focus on maxing out the first tree, starting with Bismuth, to boost your mining efficiency.
Once you can unlock a second tree, choose Mining Fundamentals. You don’t need to spend points in this tree—simply unlocking it gives you a passive bonus:

• Mining Fundamentals Bonus: Restores 1 Vigor whenever you mine in Khaz Algar, ensuring you won’t run out of Vigor while flying.

Herbalism Build To Farm Gold

For herbalism, start by investing points in the Bountiful Harvests tree. Unlock and max out each node with 40 points to maximize your gathering yields.

When a second tree becomes available, unlock the Botany specialization. Similar to mining, you don’t need to spend additional points; just unlocking this tree provides a key benefit:

• Botany Bonus: Restores 1 Vigor whenever you gather herbs in Khaz Algar, keeping your gathering uninterrupted.

Tips for Optimizing Your Gathering

1. Use a Phial of Truesight: This item increases your Perception by 120, allowing you to see camouflaged mining and herbalism nodes. These hidden nodes significantly boost the amount of gold you can earn per hour with this route.
2. Use Darkmoon Firewater: This consumable increases your Deftness by 15%, letting you gather resources faster. It also slightly increases your size (some players may find this annoying, but 15% Deftness is worth that).
3. Choose the Right Setup:
   • Druids are ideal for dual gathering because their flight form allows them to gather herbs without dismounting.
   • Non-Druids can use the Sky Golem, a mount that lets you pick herbs without dismounting.

Best TWW Skinning Farm Spots

If you’re looking for an excellent skinning spot in The War Within, the Bee/Wolf farm on the Isle of Dorn is one of the best options available. This farm is highly efficient for gathering skinning materials that sell quickly on the region-wide auction house.

 This farm spot works best with a group of 5 players:

• 1 Tank to handle incoming damage.
• 1 Healer to keep everyone alive.
• 3 DPS to maximize kill speed.

The mobs are elites and hit hard, so having a tank and healer is essential. To join or create a group, look for “Bee/Wolf Skinning Farm” in the Looking for Group (LFG) tool under custom groups. If no groups are available, you can easily start your own.

Mobs to Target:

• Cinderbee Knight
• Cinderbee Buzzer
• Cinderbee Drone
• Cinderbee Forager
• Tempest Wolf
• Rustcloud Runt

After killing them, you can skin their corpses for a variety of The War Within materials that are in high demand on the AH.

To maximize your efficiency, focus on a skinning specialization that enhances your gathering speed and material yield. Prioritize nodes that boost your ability to skin elites and rare mobs, as this will further optimize your farming in this area.

We recommend the following skinning build:

Solo Gold Farm (Follower Dungeon)

If you’re looking for a simple way to farm gold solo in The War Within, the Darkflame Cleft follower dungeon is a great choice. This method works best if you’re level 80 with good gear, but you can also use it to level alts from 70-80 while earning gold.

Here’s how it works:

• Open the Dungeon Finder and queue for the Darkflame Cleft dungeon.
• Clear the first two rooms with the help of follower NPCs.
• Leave the dungeon, reset it, and queue again. You can do this up to 10 times per hour on one realm.
• If you have characters on other realms, you can do another 10 runs per realm in the same hour.

To make the most gold, you’ll need Tailoring and Inscription:

• Tailoring lets you collect extra cloth;
• Inscription allows you to craft Darkmoon Cards, which sell well at the auction house.

Here’s how to make profession builds that will be great for such farming:

• Tailoring Specialization:
  • Start by putting 30 points into Textile Treasures to increase cloth and bolt drops during your farming runs. Next, invest 30 points into Quality Fabric, which improves the quality of the materials you gather, leading to higher-value items. Finally, unlock the Duskweave and Dawnweave Tailoring branches. You don’t need to invest points here—just unlocking them allows you to craft the higher-tier cloth essential for crafting and selling profitable items.
• Inscription Specialization:
  • Inscription is key for obtaining Darkmoon Deck cards, which sell well on the auction house. Even with basic Inscription, you’ll see these cards drop, but you can maximize your gains by investing 15 points into each Darkmoon Sigil specialization. This gives you a 50% increase in card drops for specific sigils, dramatically boosting your profits.

TWW 11.0.7 Currency to Gold: Flame-Blessed Iron

In The War Within Patch 11.0.7, a new currency called Flame-Blessed Iron was introduced. This currency is earned by participating in activities within the new zone, Siren Isle, and is a key to unlocking two valuable, tradeable toys: the Hallowfall Supply Cache and the Awakened Supply Crate. Both toys can be sold on the Auction House, making them a great option for gold farming. Each toy costs 750 Flame-Blessed Iron, so gathering this currency quickly is essential if you want to maximize your profit.

There are two main ways to farm Flame-Blessed Iron:

1. Zone Activities: By simply completing various content in Siren Isle, you’ll naturally accumulate thousands of Flame-Blessed Iron over time.
2. Mob Farming: This is the fastest method and is best done in a group. Look for Torrential Fragment farming groups in the Group Finder (LFG). The most efficient spot is located in the “storm phase” of the zone, which you can access by speaking to Suzie Boltwrench in the main camp. Once in the storm phase, head to the hyperspawn area where mobs respawn quickly, providing a steady flow of Flame-Blessed Iron.
