D2 Vow of the Disciple Loot Guide

Vow of the Disciple is a Destiny 2 raid introduced with The Witch Queen expansion on February 22, 2022. In this raid, Guardians delve into the Pyramid on the Moon, facing the Lucent Hive and Scorn enemies while navigating through encounters inspired by the Hive’s dark rituals.

In addition to items that drop from different encounters, you have the opportunity to obtain the Vow of the Disciple exotic submachine gun, also known as Collective Obligation.

To get Collective Obligation in Destiny 2:

1. Complete the Vow of the Disciple Raid – This is required to unlock Collective Obligation.
2. Defeat Rhulk – The Exotic has a chance to drop from the final chest after defeating Rhulk, the final boss.
3. Increase Your Chances – Use the “Vow of the Disciple” raid mods and complete the raid on higher difficulties to improve your drop chances.

Vow of the Disciple provides the following collectibles:

• Gouging Light Exotic Vehicle: Complete the Vow of the Disciple raid on Master Difficulty.
• Exclusive Emblems: There are 5 special emblems in Vow of the Disciple. You can get only 1 of them now.
  • Dark Telemetry: Carry 10 Guardians through the raid and claim it. Now it’s not available.

Is Vow of the Disciple Farmable?

When Vow of the Disciple is the weekly featured raid, you can farm it endlessly for loot, including its Exotic reward. All you need is a committed Fireteam and some time to grind.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to farming the VotD raid:

Step 1: Prepare for the Raid

• Fireteam: Gather a team of 6 players. Use LFG (Looking for Group) tools if needed.
• Loadout: Bring strong weapons like Izanagi’s Burden, rocket launchers, or high-DPS weapons for boss damage, and add-clear weapons like SMGs or grenade launchers.

Step 2: Farm During Featured Raid Week

• Weekly Featured Raid: Vow of the Disciple is fully farmable when it’s the featured weekly raid. Check the weekly reset to see if it’s featured.
• Replays: When featured, you can run the raid multiple times on the same character to farm loot from each encounter.

Step 3: Spend Spoils of Conquest

• Purchases: Spend 20 Spoils of Conquest per item to buy weapons or armor you’ve already unlocked.
• Farming Spoils: Farm Spoils by running other raids or completing encounters in Vow of the Disciple.

Step 4: Find Hidden Chests

• There are hidden chests in Vow of the Disciple. They drop mods and gear you’ve previously earned.
  • First Hidden Chest: Found after the first encounter, near the obelisks.
  • Second Hidden Chest: Located after the third encounter, before the final boss.

Step 5: Complete Challenges for Better Rewards

• Weekly Challenges: Each encounter has a weekly challenge that increases your chances of getting Deepsight Resonance weapons and improves Exotic drop rates.
• Extra Loot: Check the weekly raid challenge and complete it for additional loot.

Vow of the Disciple Weapons

The Vow of the Disciple raid in Destiny 2 introduces one new Exotic weapon, Collective Obligation, along with 6 Legendary weapons, each featuring unique perks and elemental attributes.

Exotic Trait:	Void Leech. This trait allows the weapon to absorb Void debuffs from enemies it damages. The debuffs it can absorb include suppressed, weakened, and volatile. Once the weapon is fully charged from absorbing these debuffs, you can switch its firing mode by pressing the reload button. It activates a 15-second buff where any target you hit will receive the same debuffs that were absorbed.
Is this weapon worth farming?	Specially for Void builds. Collective Obligation synergizes exceptionally well with Void subclasses, allowing players to leech and apply Void debuffs (Suppress, Weaken, and Volatile) to enemies. It’s highly effective in both PvE and PvP for players who utilize Void abilities frequently. However, it may not be as useful for non-Void builds.
How to Get it?	Raid Drop: Collective Obligation is obtained by completing final encounter in the Vow of the Disciple raid. It is a random drop from the final boss, Rhulk. It is not a guaranteed drop, so players may need to run the raid multiple times to obtain it. Note: You can increase your chances by completing the raid on Master difficulty or using Spoils of Conquest to purchase additional rolls from the chest at the end of the raid.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Cataclysmic is one of the best Linear Fusion Rifles available, but Linear Fusion Rifles simply aren’t the meta pick for DPS, which, naturally, makes Cataclysmic weaker.
How to Get it	Drops from the Acquisition and Caretaker encounters. Purchase from the Raid Cache after defeating Rhulk for 20 Spoils of Conquest (first purchase each week is a guaranteed red border version). Recommended to farm the Caretaker encounter for drops.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Deliverance is a strong Stasis Fusion Rifle, but it faces stiff competition in the Kinetic slot for PvE. It’s B-Tier for PvE due to its slower charge time, but A-Tier for PvP due to its forgiving archetype and utility. Chill Clip makes it viable for champion content, and Demolitionist synergizes well with grenade builds.
How to Get it	Drops from the first and third encounters. Weekly red-border version can be obtained from the final boss, Rhulk, after acquiring at least one drop. Most efficient to farm when Vow of the Disciple is the featured weekly Raid.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Yes, Forbearance is absolutely worth farming, especially for PvE. It’s one of the best add-clear weapons in Destiny 2, with perks like Demolitionist and Chain Reaction. While it doesn’t perform well in PvP, its PvE dominance makes it a must-have. Since it drops from Onslaught and has an attunement system to boost drop chances, it’s also easy to farm. If you want a top-tier grenade launcher for endgame PvE, Forbearance is a great choice.
How to Get it	Drops from the second encounter (Caretaker). Get the weekly red-border version from the final boss, Rhulk, after getting at least one drop. Best to farm when Vow of the Disciple is the featured weekly Raid.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Yes, but with caveats. Insidious is one of the best Aggressive Frame Pulse Rifles in the game and a top-tier Arc Pulse Rifle. It’s A-Tier in PvE and B-Tier in PvP, but Pulse Rifles are generally weaker than other weapon types like Hand Cannons or SMGs.
How to Get it	Obtain Insidious by farming the Vow of the Disciple Raid in Savathun’s Throne World. It drops from the Caretaker (2nd encounter) or Rhulk (final encounter). You can also purchase a red-border version weekly using Spoils of Conquest.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Lubrae’s Ruin is viable but mediocre compared to other Glaives and Special weapons. It lacks newer, powerful perks and is outperformed by alternatives like Wave-Frame Grenade Launchers in PvE. However, it’s craftable, ensuring a good roll.
How to Get it	Drops from the final boss (Rhulk) in the Vow of the Disciple Raid. Can also be purchased from the Raid cache after defeating Rhulk. Farming Rhulk is more efficient than completing the entire Raid repeatedly.

Is this weapon worth farming?	Submission is a decent Kinetic SMG that performs well in PvE and PvP. It doesn’t top the meta but offers smooth handling and good perk combinations. In PvE, it’s an efficient add-clear weapon with Subsistence and Frenzy or Demolitionist. In PvP, it can compete with strong range-focused perks like Perpetual Motion and Killing Wind. While it faces stiff competition from Multimach CCX and other top SMGs, its craftability and ease of farming in Vow of the Disciple make it a worthwhile option. If you like Lightweight Frame SMGs and want a reliable primary weapon, Submission is worth getting.
