icon In this guide, we’ll overview all CN cloth, leather, mail, and plate sets and how they look: great for players who want to gear up or find a new transmog appearance.

Castle Nathria Sets Overview

icon In Castle Nathria, the first raid of the Shadowlands expansion, each type of armor has its own armor set. The community is always anticipating the introduction of each new PvE tier because, on the one hand, some of them look epic (dozens of the best Blizzard designers work hard to create them, and sometimes they succeed, introducing true masterpieces like Paladin’s T2), and on the other hand they offer must-have enhancements for your character.

icon We’ll also share our thoughts about how each of them looks and advise which Castle Nathria gear is worth collecting.

Castle Nathria Cloth Set

The Castle Nathria Cloth Tier Sets in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands are made for Mage Mages, Priest Priests, and Warlock Warlocks. These armor sets have a dark, gothic look with glowing runes and details that match the CN raid’s vampire theme.

You can get these sets by defeating bosses in Castle Nathria. They drop in Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic modes. The higher the difficulty, the better the stats and the cooler the gear looks.

Each CN raid set gives class-specific bonuses that help with spell power, healing, or damage. The design also fits the dark story of Revendreth and Sire Denathrius, so most of them are worth farming (moreover, in WoW Retail, you can do it solo).

Each set gives class bonuses that improve your damage or reduce cooldowns. You get the pieces by killing bosses in Castle Nathria.

Harder raid modes give better stats and cooler designs. The CN leather set is popular for its bonuses (if you’re playing Shadowlands) and good transmog look (for WoW Retail players).

Castle Nathria Mail Set

The Castle Nathria Mail Tier Sets in World of Warcraft come in Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic variants, each with unique aesthetics and bonuses. The Raid Finder set features a gold and green regal design, while the Normal set adopts a dark, gothic theme with red accents and spiked armor. The Heroic set enhances the sinister look with glowing red elements. The Mythic set is the most imposing, with demonic/vampiric motifs and the most powerful bonuses. Designed for Hunter Hunters, Shaman Shamans, and Evoker Evokers, these sets reflect the vampiric Venthyr theme of Castle Nathria.

  • Mythic:
    • This recolor uses dark metal with red and gold accents. It looks heavy and powerful—fitting for a raid like Castle Nathria.
    • The armor has sharp spikes, glowing blue shoulders, and detailed patterns that make it feel epic (shoulders will be great for Shaman’s transmog ideas, for example).
  • Heroic:
    • The heroic mail set keeps the dark, gothic style. It matches the CN raid’s eerie, vampire theme and looks strong and threatening because of the red accents on the shoulders.
    • Some players who are not familiar with the Shadowlands transmogs may even think that you got it from the Mythic difficulty.
  • Normal:
    •  The normal version also uses dark metal with green and bronze highlights. It keeps the same gothic feel but is a bit more toned down.
  • Raid Finder:
    • It features a predominantly gold color scheme, accented with intricate details and orange accents.
    • The helmet has a prominent crest, giving it a commanding presence, while the shoulder pads are large and spiked, adding to the set’s intimidating look.
    • The chest piece is adorned with a central green gem, and the gauntlets and boots are heavily armored, maintaining the gold-and-green theme throughout.
  • Pieces:
    • Helm: A commanding headpiece with a sharp, crest-like design.
    • Shoulders: Massive pauldrons with jagged edges and spiked elements.
    • Chestplate: A heavily-armored centerpiece, adorned with intricate patterns and a prominent gem in the middle. The design balances strength and elegance.
    • Gauntlets: Armored gloves that provide both protection and aesthetics.
    • Legguards: Ornate and robust, these offer full coverage and match the rest of the set’s aesthetic.
    • Boots: Heavy and fortified, these boots are designed for durability.
    • Belt: A wide, decorated belt that completes the lower body armor.

Castle Nathria Plate Set

The Castle Nathria Plate Tier Sets in World of Warcraft are armor sets for mail-wearing classes like Warrior Warriors, Paladin Paladins, and Death Knight Death Knights, introduced in the Shadowlands expansion. Available in Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties, these sets feature a dark, gothic aesthetic with intricate details like skull motifs, spikes, and glowing purple or blue accents. Players can acquire pieces by defeating bosses in the Castle Nathria raid, with higher difficulties offering better stats and appearances. The sets are also popular for transmogrification due to their striking visual design.

  • Mythic:
    • The Mythic Plate CN armor has a dark metal base with glowing orange crystals on the shoulders and in the belt.
    • The gold accents add a magical feel, making this skin look elite and hard to get. It fits well with the raid’s creepy and gothic style.
  • Heroic:
    • Castle Nathria Plate armor HC recolor looks detailed and intense. It has spikes, chains, and heavy patterns.
    • The dark colors and sharp edges match the feel of Castle Nathria and Shadowlands (in my opinion, it fits the vibe and overall design of this WoW expansion way more than other CN tier sets).
  • Normal:
    • The normal set keeps the same dark style. It has engraved designs, small chains, and a mix of black, red, and silver. It looks strong but not too flashy.
  • Raid Finder:
    • This recolor is simpler but still fits the CN raid’s setting.
    • However, in my opinion, it looks too cheap and primitive, and is not worth farming (it will be much smarter to spend your time, getting pieces from Normal, Heroic, or Mythic Nathria).
  • Pieces:
    • Helmet: The helmet is ornate, with a crown-like design at the top and glowing elements on the sides.
    • Shoulders: The shoulder pieces are large and imposing, with spiked and armored plating.
    • Chest: The chest piece is heavily armored with detailed plating and a central glowing element.
    • Gloves: The gloves are intricately designed with armored plating and glowing accents, matching the overall theme of the set.
    • Belt: The belt is adorned with detailed plating and a central glowing element, tying in with the rest of the set.
    • Legs: The leg armor is heavily plated with intricate details, providing a strong and protective look.
    • Boots: The boots are designed with armored plating, completing the set’s cohesive appearance.
