Concentration & Crafting Orders Explained
Concentration lets you increase the quality of crafted items beyond their base materials. For example, you can take cheap Rank 1 cloth and turn it into a Rank 3 Arcanoweave Bolt using 150–300 Concentration.
- Daily regeneration: About 30 Concentration per hour, cap 500. You can craft 1–2 high‑quality items per day.
- Best use: Save Concentration for endgame crafts (epic armor, rare bags) – not for leveling. Using Concentration on cheap recipes is a waste.
Work Orders are how you get other players to craft items for you (or you for them). Three types:
- Personal Orders – Directly between players. Best for high‑end cloth armor and embellished gear. High commission (2–5k gold).
- Public Orders – Open to anyone. Competition is fierce, commissions are low (100–500g).
- NPC Orders – Some quests and weekly tasks reward you for filling NPC orders. These help unlock rare recipes and give extra Knowledge Points.
For leveling 90–100: Filling personal orders is the cheapest way to gain skill points – customers often provide the expensive materials.
How Profession Knowledge Points Work in Midnight
- First Craft – every new recipe gives 1–3 KP.
- Crafting Orders – completing orders (first of the week gives bonus KP).
- Profession treasures – hidden in Midnight zones (Eversong, Zul’Aman, Harandar, Voidstorm).
- Weekly quest – from the trainer, gives 3 KP.
- Vendor books – expensive (10–15k gold), but give 10 KP once per character.
Midnight Tailoring Specs Overview
| Specialization | Focus | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Sin’dorei Finery | Crafting cloth armor (chest, legs, shoulders) and embellished gear | Filling Crafting Orders for armor; self‑gear |
| Nimble Needlework | Producing Arcanoweave Bolt and Sunfire Silk Bolt (daily cooldowns) | Goldmaking; supplying high‑end materials |
| Fabric Specialist | Better cloth gathering (more drops, higher quality) and general crafting efficiency | Self‑sufficient players who farm their own cloth |
| Fiber Arts | Boosts Ingenuity, Resourcefulness, Multicraft, and Crafting Speed | Mass production; saving materials |
Recommended first specialization (at skill 25): Nimble Needlework. Unlocking the daily Arcanoweave Bolt cooldown early gives you a steady source of valuable materials for later crafts. You’ll also need these bolts for most high‑end recipes.

Midnight Tailoring Level 1-10
- Recipe: Bright Linen Bolt (trainer)
- Materials: 3x Bright Linen per bolt
- Craft: 220 Bright Linen → ~74 Bright Linen Bolt. This will take you to skill 10.
Tip: Save all these bolts – you’ll need them for later recipes.
Midnight Tailoring Level 10-25
- Recipe: Bright Linen Bandage (trainer)
- Materials: 2x Bright Linen Bolt per bandage
- Craft: 70 Bright Linen Bandage → reach skill 25.
Bright Linen Bandage are cheap and stack in your inventory. You can vendor them for a few silver each or keep for personal use.
Midnight Tailoring Level 25-35
At skill 25, visit the trainer to unlock specializations. Put your first Knowledge Points into Nimble Needlework (at least 10 points to unlock the Arcanoweave Bolt recipe later).
25–30: Imbued Bright Linen Bolt
- Recipe: Imbued Bright Linen Bolt (trainer, unlocks at skill 25)
- Materials: 8x Silverleaf Thread + 4x Bright Linen Bolt + 2x Eversinging Dust per craft
- Craft: 5–6 Imbued Bright Linen Bolt → reach skill 30.
30–35: Profession Accessories
- Recipe: Any profession accessory (e.g., “Tailor’s Mitts” – trainer)
- Materials: 2x Mote of Pure Void + 2x Imbued Bright Linen Bolt per craft
- Craft: 5 accessories → reach skill 35.
Tip: Accessories are used in Crafting Orders. You might sell a few on the AH for 500–1k gold each.
Midnight Tailoring Level 35-45
35–38: Bright Linen Tailoring Robe
- Materials: 3x Silverleaf Thread + 2x Imbued Bright Linen Bolt + 1x Eversinging Dust
- Craft: 3 robes → skill 38.
38–41: Cosmetic Cloaks
- Materials: 4x Bright Linen Bolt + 1x Mote of Pure Void
- Craft: 3 cloaks → skill 41.
41–45: Basic Cloth Armor (e.g., “Bright Linen Pants”)
- Materials: 5x Bright Linen Bolt + 2x Silverleaf Thread
- Craft: 4 pieces → skill 45.
Midnight Tailoring Level 45-60
45–50: Spellthreads
- Recipe: “Enchanted Spellthread” (trainer)
- Materials: 2x Imbued Bright Linen Bolt + 1x Mote of Pure Void
- Craft: 5 spellthreads → skill 50. Spellthreads are consumables (leg enchants) – they always sell on the AH for 300–500g each.
50–60: Profession Equipment
- Recipe: “Tailor’s Toolbelt” or “Spellweaver’s Gloves” (trainer)
- Materials: 2x Radiant Shard + 4x Bright Linen Bolt per craft
- Craft: 10 pieces → skill 60.
By now, you should have a small stack of Imbued Bright Linen Bolt and Radiant Shard. Don’t vendor them – they’re used in the next tier.
Midnight Tailoring Level 60-90
From 60 to 90, trainer recipes stop giving skill. You’ll need to craft items from your specializations or world‑drop recipes.
Best options at this stage:
| Craft | Skill gain (Yellow/Green) | Why it’s good |
|---|---|---|
| Arcanoweave Bolt (Nimble Needlework) | 2–3 points (up to 80), then 1 point | Required for almost every endgame craft. Daily cooldown (10 bolts per day). Sells for 800–1,200g each on AH. |
| Sunfire Silk Bolt (Nimble Needlework) | 2–3 points (up to 80), then 1 point | Used for bags and high‑end armor. Daily cooldown limit (5 bolts per day). Sells for 1,500–2,000g each. |
| New bags (e.g., “Sunfire Silk Bag”) | 2 points | 32‑slot bags always sell. Materials: 5 Sunfire Silk Bolts + 10 Arcanoweave Bolt. Sell price: 8–12k gold. |
| Spellthreads (advanced) | 1–2 points | Same as before, but uses Arcanoweave Bolt. Steady demand from raiders. |
| Optional Reagents | 1 point | Craft “Fiber Reinforcement” – used in Crafting Orders. Low profit per craft, but high volume. |
- Unlock Arcanoweave Bolt as soon as possible (Nimble Needlework, 20 KP).
- Craft your daily cooldowns every day. Even if you don’t use them, sell the bolts.
- Between daily cooldowns, craft bags or spellthreads for skill points. Bags are expensive but give 2 skill points each; spellthreads are cheaper but give 1 point.
Time estimate: If you only rely on daily cooldowns, 60–90 takes about 2 weeks. If you mass‑craft bags, you can do it in 2–3 hours – but that will cost 50–80k gold in materials. Most players take the slow, profitable route.
Midnight Tailoring Level 90-100
The last 10 points are the most expensive. You have three options.
Option A – High‑End Spellthreads (Steady, Affordable)
- Recipe: “Arcanoweave Spellthread” (requires Nimble Needlework)
- Materials: 2x Arcanoweave Bolt + 1x Mote of Pure Void
- Skill per craft: 1 point (even at 99)
- Cost per craft: ~1,500g
- Crafts needed: 10–12 → 15–18k gold.
- Profit: Spellthreads sell for 1,200–1,800g each. You’ll lose a little gold but not much.
Option B – Premium Bags (Best Value)
- Recipe: “Sunfire Silk Pack” (32 slots)
- Materials: 7x Sunfire Silk Bolts + 5x Arcanoweave Bolt
- Skill per craft: 2 points up to 95, then 1 point.
- Cost per bag: ~15–20k gold in materials
- Sell price: 12–18k gold (loss of 2–5k per bag)
- Crafts needed: 5–6 bags.
Why do it anyway? Bags always sell, and you’re buying skill points for a few thousand gold each. Consider it an investment.
Option C – Crafting Orders (Cheapest)
- Advertise in trade chat: “Tailor – can craft epic cloth armor (chest, legs). Provide mats, pay 3k commission.”
- Each order gives 2–3 skill points, and the customer provides the expensive Arcanoweave Bolt.
- Cost to you: Only time (and maybe a few hundred gold for thread).
- Downside: Slow – depends on demand.
Recommended hybrid approach:
- Fill 5–10 Crafting Orders for the bulk of 90–95 (cheap, low stress).
- Craft 3–4 premium bags to push to 100 (recoup some cost).
- If you have 20+ Arcanoweave Bolt saved from daily cooldowns, you can craft high‑end spellthreads and sell them for minimal loss.
