Let’s be honest – the main reason most of us queue for Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds in Midnight isn’t just for fun. It’s for the rating, the prestige, and those sweet exclusive rewards: seasonal titles, mounts, elite transmogs, and achievements that make you stand out in Valdrakken (or wherever people hang out now).
Rated Battlegrounds (RBGs) – large-scale, objective-based, best with a guild group
The expansion also brings fresh balance changes, updated PvP talents, and a brand new Gladiator mount: the Galactic Gladiator’s Goredrake. Yes, it’s a dragon. Yes, it’s void‑themed. Yes, you want it.
From this guide, you will learn where to check the following PvP leaderboards:
The system hasn’t changed much, and that’s fine – it works.
How rating works:
Win matches → rating goes up
Lose matches → rating goes down
Beat a team with higher MMR → you gain more points
Lose to a team with lower MMR → you lose more points
Two numbers matter: your Current Rating (CR) and your Matchmaking Rating (MMR). MMR is the hidden number that determines who you face. If your MMR is higher than your CR, you’ll gain more points per win until they balance out.
WoW 3v3 Ladder (US Region)
The 3v3 ladder is still the most competitive. Here’s where to stalk the best players.
Solo Shuffle is especially popular for DPS players who don’t want to wait ages for a group. You still get elite transmogs, the weapon illusion, and a title – but no Gladiator mount (that’s still 3v3 only).
WoW 2v2 Ladder (WoW Midnight)
2v2 is great for quick games and learning fundamentals. No Gladiator mount here, but you can still get elite transmogs, Duelist titles, and vicious mounts.
If you prefer objectives over deathmatches, RBGs are for you. You’ll need a group – pugging 10 players is rough. But the faction‑specific titles (Marshal, Warlord, etc.) are still some of the coolest in the game.
Blitz has grown a lot. Faster queues, shorter matches, and solo/duo queue make it super accessible. You still earn elite transmogs, seasonal pennants, and titles.
Top players can earn faction‑exclusive titles (Marshal, Warlord, Hero). It’s a solid way to get rated rewards without committing to full RBGs.
There are 3 main rewards in Battleground Blitz:
Temporary Title: Strategist, which you can earn by winning 25 matches while at Elite rank during the season. This title lasts until the next season.
Permanent Title: Forged Marshall for Alliance players or Forged Warlord for Horde players. This title is given to players who finish in the top 0.1% of the ladder and have won at least 50 matches.
In addition to these seasonal rewards, there are also achievements such as Battleground Blitz Master for winning 150 matches, and Battleground Blitzer for winning a match in under 5 minutes.
