All Heritage Armor Sets Overview

Heritage Armor sets were first introduced to World of Warcraft in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, released on August 14, 2018. This unique cosmetic gear is visually striking and profoundly symbolic of the cultures and histories they represent within the game’s lore. That’s why many players use it for transmogrification purposes.

In this article, we’ve gathered a full list of these sets (for all races), briefly explained how to get them, and shared our thoughts about how this or another gear looks.

Draenei, Pandarens, Dracthyrs, and Darkspear Trolls don’t have Heritage Armor sets yet. Hopefully they will be added in the forthcoming World of Warcraft updates.

Human Heritage Armor

Overview:

• The armor allows players to get the iconic look of a Warcraft III Footman or a Stormwind guard.
• Introduced in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Patch 10.0.7 alongside Human Heritage Armor.
• Inspired by Warcraft III unit appearances.

Requirements for the Human Heritage Armor unlocking:

• Your race must be a Human.
• Character level must be 50 or above.
• Exalted reputation with Stormwind.

Armor Set Characteristics:

• Named the Lion’s Heritage.
• Available in red, blue, and white tints.
• Features two styles: heavily armored and a tunic/skirt version.
• It can be used for Transmogrification.

How to get:

• Starting the Questline:
  • Visit Master Mathias Shaw in Stormwind.
  • Located on the second floor of the SI:7 quarters.
  • He initiates the questline with “An Urgent Matter” to recover a stolen artifact.
• Rewards:
  • Completing the questline rewards players with three variations of the Human Heritage Armor for transmogrification: Ensemble: Lion’s Heritage Blue Armor Set, Ensemble: Lion’s Heritage Scarlet Armor Set, and Ensemble: Lion’s Heritage White Armor Set.
  • Available for any class or specialization.

Night Elf Heritage Armor

Heritage of the Kaldorei Overview:

• Earn a look that honors the Night Elves’ resilience after the burning of Teldrassil in Battle for Azeroth.
• Released in Patch 10.1.7 of Dragonflight, includes a comprehensive questline and a weapon transmog.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Must be of the Night Elf race.
• Minimum character level of 50.

How to get:

• Starting the Questline:
  • Arko’narin Starshade near the Stormwind Embassy initiates with “The Clarion Call.”
  • Engage in a series of quests to delve deep into Night Elf lore.
  • Includes: The Clarion Call, Ancient Curses, A Grim Portent, and several more leading to the Lysander Ceremony and Honor the Goddess.

Quest Rewards:

• Ensemble: Kaldorei Protector’s Adornment, a full transmog set.
• «Ama’shan» title and Traditionalist’s Kaldorei Blades set for weapon transmog.

Second Color Variant:

• The blue and white tint, tied to Patch 10.2, requires defeating Fyrakk in the Amirdrassil raid and completing the epilogue questline.
• Results in unlocking the Raiment of Amirdrassil, echoing the new World Tree’s hues.

Orc Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Also known as the Heritage of Draenor armor set.
• Orc Heritage armor sets are named after significant orc clans.
• The set pays homage to the orcs’ roots in Draenor, offering a visual connection to their homeland.
• Eligible for transmogrification, allowing players to customize their appearance with these significant armors, regardless of their current gear.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Exclusively for Orc characters (excluding Mag’har Orcs).
• Achieve level 50 or higher to start the questline.
• Exalted standing with Orgrimmar.

How to get:

• Begin by visiting Eitrigg in Orgrimmar to receive “A People in Need of Healing.”
• The journey involves revisiting Draenor to rejuvenate the Kosh’harg festival, emphasizing community and tradition.

Armor Set Variations:

• Features three distinct color schemes:
  • Red version: Ensemble: Wolf’s Heritage Warsong Armor Set
  • Black version: Ensemble: Wolf’s Heritage Blackrock Armor Set
  • Blue version: Ensemble: Wolf’s Heritage Frostwolf Armor Set
• Each set, including the Wolf’s Heritage Warsong, Frostwolf, and Blackrock Armor Sets, embodies the spirit and aesthetics of its respective clan.

Additional Reward – Clan Banner Toy:

• Upon completion, players receive the Clan Banner toy, reflecting the chosen clan during the quest.

Undead Heritage Armor

Overview:

• It offers a unique appearance, capturing the essence of the Forsaken’s grim resilience and defiance against their foes.
• Added in WoW Patch 10.1.7.
• Armor set allows for transmogrification across any class or specialization.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Exclusively available to characters of the Undead race.
• Must achieve a minimum character level of 50.
• Exalted reputation with the Undercity faction.

Armor Details:

• Officially named the “Heritage of the Forsaken.”
• Presents two distinct styles: one with a chestplate for a more armored look and one without for a traditional robe appearance.
• The color scheme resonates with the Forsaken theme, embracing their undead nature.

How to get:

• First Step: Visit Lilian Voss at the Ruins of Lordaeron to begin the questline titled “Unliving Summons.”
• Engage in a storyline involving a resurgence of the Scarlet Crusade and undertake various missions to thwart their plans, including espionage and combat.
• Collect Ensemble: Forsaken Champion’s Attire.

Bonus Rewards and Customization:

• Complete the questline to unlock the full Undead Heritage Armor set, including two new tabards: Forsaken Champion’s Tabard and Queen Loyalist’s Tabard.

Zandalari Troll Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Marks the connection of this race to loa gods and ancient heritage.
• Adds an exclusive aesthetic that blends Aztec inspirations with jungle warfare.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Play as a Zandalari Troll.
• Level up to 50 naturally without using character boosts, faction changes, or race changes.
• Achieve the Heritage of the Zandalari by grinding levels to preserve the armor’s integrity.

Heritage Armor Details:

• Known as the Heritage of the Zandalari.
• Features opulent golden armor with intricate loa designs, showcasing the trolls’ connection to their gods.
• The armor set includes a full ensemble, allowing players to transmog into this majestic gear.

How to get:

• Begin by joining the Horde and exploring the Zandalar region, rich in history and lore.
• Complete key quests in the Battle for Azeroth’s Horde campaign to unlock the Zandalari Trolls.
• Engage in specific quests focusing on Zuldazar’s major lore, culminating in the royal occasion with Zandalari emissaries.

Additional Rewards:

• Upon unlocking, players also receive the Zandalari Direhorn mount, a testament to the trolls’ might.
• A unique Tabard of the Zandalari is also awarded, symbolizing allegiance to this ancient and powerful race.

Classes and Traits:

• Zandalari Trolls can pursue 10 out of 12 available WoW classes, each offering a slice of Zandalari prowess.

Blood Elf Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Patch 9.2.5 introduced a questline for Blood Elves involving a return to the Ghostlands to address a Scourge reappearance.
• Players gain access to new rewards, including a mount, a polearm transmog, and a Paladin-specific transmog set.

Requirements:

• Must be a Blood Elf character.
• Level 60 and Exalted with Silvermoon City.

Quests to Complete:

• Begins with Lady Liadrin near the Orgrimmar portal by Oribos outskirts.
• Involves fighting a Scourge resurgence in the Ghostlands and empowering a weapon in the Shadowlands.
• It starts with “Summons from the Matriarch” and ends with “Victory for the Sin’dorei” or “Blood Knight” (for Paladins).
  Includes missions like “Tranquillien Besieged,” “Death to the Scourge,” and “Return to the Ghostlands.”

Questline Rewards:

• Elusive Emerald Hawkstrider Mount: A green Hawkstrider mount, originally introduced but unavailable since the Burning Crusade.
• Veil-Touched Ranseur Polearm Transmog: A distinctive Blood Elf weapon empowered with Shadowlands powers.

Paladin-Specific Rewards:

• Ensemble: Blood Knight’s Dedication: A Paladin transmog set mirroring the Blood Knight NPC gear, including four cloak variants.
• Fallen Knight’s Ranseur: A special polearm transmog for Paladins, matching the historically significant Blood-Tempered Ranseur, obtainable by visiting Deathholme post-questline.

Dwarf Heritage Armor

Known as the Bronzebeard Heritage Armor, this set is designed for Dwarves.

To access it, players must level a Dwarf character to 50 and complete a specific questline, starting with “Keep Yer Feet On The Ground.”

Components of the Heritage of the Bronzebeard:

• Head: Bronzebeard Helm
• Shoulders: Bronzebeard Pauldrons
• Chest: Bronzebeard Tunic
• Wrists: Bronzebeard Wristclamps
• Hands: Bronzebeard Mitts
• Waist: Bronzebeard Cinch
• Legs: Bronzebeard Leggings
• Feet: Bronzebeard Stompers

Requirements for Unlocking:

• The character must be of the Dwarf race.
• Level 50 or above is required to start the unlocking process.

Starting the Questline:

• Players need to visit the Stormwind Embassy to initiate the questline.
• Digger Golad is the NPC who offers the starting quest Keep Yer Feet On The Ground.

Rewards Upon Completion:

• Completing the questline grants players the full Bronzebeard Heritage Armor transmog set.
• This set is designed for transmogrification, allowing players to showcase their Dwarf heritage across any class or specialization.

Additional Notes:

• The transmog set is hidden in the Appearances Tab until it is unlocked.
• There are no achievements directly linked to obtaining this armor set.

Highmountain Tauren Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Awarded for reaching level 50 with a Highmountain Tauren without the use of character boost, faction, or race change.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Completion of the Highmountain storyline, earning the “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” achievement.
• Completion of the special recruitment quest after joining the Horde, detailed in the Allied Races: Highmountain Tauren achievement.

Bonus rewards:

• Tabard: Highmountain Tabard awarded upon the creation of a Highmountain Tauren character and completing the first quest.
• Mount: Highmountain Thunderhoof. This unique mount symbolizes the strength and heritage of the Highmountain Tauren. Upon unlocking, it is available to all Horde races.

Dark Iron Dwarf Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Introduced for Dark Iron Dwarves in Patch 9.2.5.
  Rewards include weapon cosmetics and a distinctive mount.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Achieve the Heritage of the Dark Iron by leveling a Dark Iron Dwarf from level 10 to 50 without race-changing.
• Questline is exclusively for Dark Iron Dwarves who meet the level requirement.

Questline Explained:

• Started by Anvil-Thane Thurgaden at the Black Anvil in Shadowforge City.
• The starting quest is The Anvil-Thane’s Designs.
• Follows Anvil-Thane Thurgaden through Shadowforge City to earn Lavaforge Armaments.
• Involves completing tasks and demonstrating mastery over Dark Iron craftsmanship.
• Includes quests like “Brawl or Brew,” “It’s Called Borrowing,” and “Weapons o’ the Dark Iron.”

Bonus Rewards:

• Arsenal: Lavaforge Armaments: A set of weapon appearances matching the Dark Iron Heritage Armor, including a One-Handed Axe, a Shield, and a Staff.
  • Lavaforge Hacker: One-Handed Axe
  • Lavaforge Bulwark: Shield
  • Lavaforge Monolith: Staff
• Dark Iron Core Hound: A Dark Iron Bloodhound mount with distinctive armor, known humorously as The Flame Woof and Forgehound Maximus.

Mag’Har Orc Heritage Armor

Overview:

• The Mag’har Orcs’ Heritage Armor reflects their rich history and connection to Draenor.
• Unlocking this gear requires completing specific quests within the Horde faction.

Unlocking Mag’har Orcs:

• Complete the Ready for War achievement through the Horde War Campaign in Zandalar and Kul Tiras.
• Proceed to the Orgrimmar Embassy and accept the “Vision of Time” quest from Eitrigg to start the recruitment questline.

Bonus Rewards Upon Unlocking:

• Mag’har Direwolf mount.

Requirements:

• Reach level 50 naturally without using character boosts or other leveling aids.
• Upon completion, players receive the Heritage of the Mag’har Feat of Strength, the Heritage Armor set, and the Tabard of the Mag’har Clans.

Worgen Heritage Armor

Introduction to Heritage Armor:

• The Heritage of Gilneas set celebrates the rich lore and unique identity of the Worgen race in World of Warcraft.
• Unlocking this armor set showcases the player’s dedication to the Worgen heritage.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Must level a Worgen character to 50 to start the unlocking process.
• Complete a specific questline beginning with “The Shadow of Gilneas.”

Questline Start:

• At level 50 or higher, go to the Stormwind Embassy.
• Find and talk to Courier Claridge to accept the quest “The Shadow of Gilneas.”

Overview:

• It is also known as the Heritage of Kezan set.
• Designed for transmogrification, it allows Goblins to showcase their lore.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Level a Goblin character to 50 to begin the unlocking process.
• Complete a questline starting with “Old Friends, New Opportunities.”

Questline Start:

• Available at level 50 or higher for Goblins.
• Started at the Orgrimmar Embassy by speaking with Izzy.

• Complete the questline beginning with Shifting Gears.

Questline Start:

• At level 50 or higher, visit the Stormwind Embassy.
• Speak with Ace Pilot Stormcog to accept the starting quest “Shifting Gears.”

Vulpera Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Cosmetic, allowing transmogrification onto any armor type (Cloth, Leather, Mail, Plate) worn by a Vulpera.
• Not transmoggable by other races, underscoring its exclusivity to Vulpera.
• This heritage armor set is exclusive to Vulpera and emphasizes their nomadic lifestyle.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Reach level 50 with a Vulpera character without using a leveling boost.

Restrictions:

• To qualify for the armor set, avoid using Character Boost tokens, changing faction or race, and leveling up using Recruit a Friend in-game levels.

Additional Rewards:

• Tabard of the Vulpera: Awarded upon creating a Vulpera, logging in, and completing the first quest “For the Horde.”
• Vulpera Heritage Set: Achieving the “Heritage of the Vulpera” Feat of Strength grants this unique armor set.

Kul Tiran Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Kul Tiran Heritage Armor showcases the deep connection of this race to the sea.
• Designed to reflect the strength, courage, and unity of Kul Tiras, it symbolizes their proud history and bright future.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Reach level 50 with a Kul Tiran Human character without using leveling boosts to receive the Heritage of the Kul Tirans Feat of Strength and the Kul Tiran Heritage Armor.
• The set is a highly-detailed cosmetic armor that can only be transmogged by Kul Tiran Human characters.

Associated Rewards:

• Allied Races: Kul Tiran achievement, Tabard of Kul Tiras and the Kul Tiran Charger mount.

Available Classes:

• Kul Tirans can choose from Death Knight, Druid, Hunter (with an Alpine Falcon as a starting pet), Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, and Warrior.

Customization Options:

• Kul Tiran Humans have various customization options, including facial hair, hair color, hairstyles, and skin color for males, as well as earrings, necklaces, hairstyles, skin color, and faces for females.

Nightborne Heritage Armor

Overview:

• The Shal’dorei Heritage Armor Set reflects the rich history and magical prowess of the Nightborne race.
• Designed to celebrate the Nightborne’s reconnection with the world outside Suramar and their alliance with the Horde.
• Cosmetic, allowing transmogrification onto any armor type (Cloth, Leather, Mail, Plate) worn by a Nightborne.
• Not transmoggable by other races, emphasizing its exclusivity to Nightborne characters.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Level a Nightborne character to 50 without using leveling boosts to initiate the unlocking process.
• This armor set highlights the unique aesthetics of the Nightborne and their sophisticated culture.

Restrictions:

• To qualify for the armor set, avoid using Character Boost tokens, changing faction or race, and leveling up using Recruit a Friend in-game levels.

Additional Rewards:

• Shal’dorei Tabard: Awarded upon creating a Nightborne, logging in, and completing the first quest “For the Horde.”
• Nightborne Manasaber: A unique mount symbolizing the Nightborne’s arcane legacy and their connection to mana, available to all Horde characters.

Lightforged Draenei Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Cosmetic, allowing transmogrification onto any armor type (Cloth, Leather, Mail, Plate) worn by a Lightforged Draenei.
• Not transmoggable by other races.
• It embodies the Lightforged Draenei’s dedication to justice and their celestial lineage.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Reach level 50 with a Lightforged Draenei character without using leveling boosts to initiate the unlocking process.
• This armor set is a testament to the Lightforged Draenei’s heroic deeds and their place among the Alliance’s ranks.

Additional Rewards:

• Lightforged Tabard: Awarded upon creating a Lightforged Draenei, logging in, and completing the first quest “For the Alliance.”

Tauren Heritage Armor

Overview:

• Known as the Heritage of the Shu’halo, this armor set is designed specifically for Tauren.
• Unlocking requires a Tauren character to 50 and completing a questline starting with “When Spirits Whisper.”

Questline Start:

• Available at level 50 or higher.
• Initiated at the Orgrimmar Embassy by speaking with Spiritwalker Isahi.
• The starting quest is “When Spirits Whisper.”

Mechagnome Heritage Armor

Overview:

• The Mechagnome Heritage Armor set is designed to showcase the ingenuity and mechanical prowess of the Mechagnome race, highlighting their deep connection to technology and innovation.
• Cosmetic, allowing transmogrification onto any armor type (Cloth, Leather, Mail, Plate) worn by a Mechagnome.
  Not transmoggable by other races, ensuring its exclusivity to Mechagnome characters.

Unlocking Requirements:

• Reach level 50 with a Mechagnome character without using leveling boosts to initiate the unlocking process.
• The heritage armor emphasizes the unique identity of Mechagnomes within World of Warcraft.
